To honour the client’s commitment to sustainability, the project’s siding, beams, and interior trim were milled from trees harvested on site, reducing the need for imported materials and minimizing waste. An engineer was brought in to help oversee the process and grade the structural beams to ensure they met the required standards.

We also designed and installed a butterfly roof incorporating a rainwater collection system. Collected rainwater is stored and reused for irrigation, helping reduce potable water consumption and lowering the home’s overall environmental impact. Together, these strategies allowed the project to make use of materials already available on site while integrating practical systems for long-term water conservation.
